Getting There
The Governors Island Art Fair is open in September - Fridays (11am-4pm), Saturdays & Sundays (11am-6pm). Please note: The last ferry to the island is 3pm on Friday and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
4heads Open Studios run from June 25 through September 25 every Saturday & Sunday (11am-6pm). Studios will be closed August 27 & 28. Please visit our events page for more information

Directions to the Governors Island Manhattan Ferry
The Governors Island ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower Manhattan. The ferry terminal is accessible as follows:

There is no public parking at the Governors Island ferry building. There is garage parking across the street from the Battery Maritime Building for a fee.

The free ferry from Brooklyn leaves from Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, located at the foot of Atlantic Avenue (corner of Columbia Street).

East River Ferry Service
Starting on June 17, visitors can take the new East River Ferry to Governors Island from Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. The fare is normally $4 for a one-way trip to the island but now through June 24, the trip is FREE!
On Friday ONLY, the trip to Governors Island is part of the Lower Harbor Loop which also includes stops at Atlantic Ave./Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park/DUMBO, and Pier 11/Wall St. The ferry lands on Governors Island approximately every half hour from 11 AM to 4:15 PM. Our Location on Governors Island
Upon exiting the ferry, walk to the LEFT following the water (on your left) all the way around to the Red Hook, Brooklyn side of Governors Island. The Art Fair is in Building 12 (on your right). Follow the signs to Sections D,E, H, I & P of this large, former military residence complex which has been repurposed as galleries by 4heads.
